Dan Blocker State Beach, known to locals as Corral Beach, is a wide, welcoming public beach between Puerco and Corral Canyons in central Malibu. It's mellower and less crowded than the marquee state beaches, with an easygoing reef and beachbreak that suits a range of surfers. Named for the "Bonanza" actor who once co-owned the land, it has roadside parking and open sand that make it a low-key spot for swimming and paddling, though runoff can affect water quality after rain.
