Big Rock is a scenic, rocky stretch of shoreline along Pacific Coast Highway in eastern Malibu, named for the prominent rock formations along the water. It's more about the coastal views and the reef than about lounging on sand, and surfers find a rocky right reef here that works on the right swell. The beach narrows and the rocks dominate at high tide, and access and parking are limited roadside, so it draws far fewer visitors than the state beaches.
