Broad Beach stretches along the western end of Malibu below a row of gated estates, a long and narrow strand that has faced significant erosion in recent years. The surf-worthy corner is at the Trancas Creek and point end, while the rest is a quiet residential beach used mostly for walking and swimming. Public access is via marked coastal easements between the homes, and there are no facilities, so it stays uncrowded compared with Zuma just to the east.
