The Getty Villa is a museum of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities set in a re-creation of a first-century Roman country house above the coast at the Malibu–Pacific Palisades line. Its galleries, gardens, fountains, and open-air peristyle courtyards make it as much an architectural experience as an art museum, drawing on the collection of oil magnate J. Paul Getty. Admission is free but timed tickets and advance reservations are required, and parking is paid.
